LRHS Physical Project Proposal
INSTRUCTIONS
These instructions are for clarification purposes. PLEASE read any and all instructions on the proposal itself BEFORE asking a teacher for help. We expect you to have read EVERYTHING.
This list follows the order of items in the proposal and should be used side by side with the proposal.
Approval Checklist
- This is a list of individual items that must be completed as you work through the process of getting your project approved. Pay attention to exactly who needs to sign what and when.
Detailed Description
- Make this as detailed as possible. If someone says, “What’s your project?” this is your answer.
- NOTHING IN THIS DESCRIPTION SHOULD COME AS A SURPRISE TO YOUR MENTOR. FIGURE THIS STUFF OUT WITH THEM BEFORE YOU SUBMIT YOUR PROPOSAL!
- Pay attention to word count!
Logistics
- Your proposal will not be approved if you are unable to tell us how you are going to make it all happen.
- Pay attention to word count!
Challenge
- Your challenges MAY NOT BE:
- time management
- getting out of “your comfort zone”
- Challenges need to be project-specific.
- Pay attention to word count!
Career Learning Areas
- Ask a teacher if you don’t know in what field of study your project is.
World of Work
- How COULD what you learn in this project be part of your future?
Goals
- Again, nothing about time management or comfort zone. Focus on learned, project-specific skills.
- Goals should be written as complete sentences that begin with the words that are already on the doc.
Timeline
- Make sure to delete the example.
- The dates and hours are guesses, but the hours should add up to whatever total hours you mentioned in the Detailed Description or the Logistics.
- Make sure to delete any extra rows that you don’t need.
Emergency Troubleshooting
- You are entirely responsible for being on time and communicating with your mentor in the way they prefer. Make sure to figure these things out as specifically as possible.
Mentor Information
- Should be filled in with your mentor.
Signature Page
- All 3 signatures must be present to be approved.
Extended Application Committee Page
- Do nothing on this page, just make sure it is printed and attached to the back of your proposal when you submit it to Mrs. Bandfield-Johnson.
