Miss Rachel's Newsletter
Hello! My name is Rachel Duren, the kids call me Miss Rachel. I am the Child Development Specialist for your School. This is my second year here and I love working with the students, families and community.
My job here at Bonanza is to support your student in any way that can help them to be successful at school. I meet with students individually or in small group settings to teach or enhance social emotional skills. I am also available to support your family in connecting with community resources.

We have implemented sound discipline into our school this year. Sound discipline is a program that is based on brain science and focuses on restorative justice rather than punitive punishment.
Sound discipline is-
“Integrating solution-focused discipline, trauma-informed practices, and data-driven systemic change to build powerful learning communities in which all students have the opportunity to excel socially, emotionally and academically."
