Worksource Oregon honors district
March 23, 2023 / The Klamath County School District was recognized March 23 by Worksource Oregon for its support and employment of military veterans.
Paul Messett, Worksource Oregon disabled veterans outreach and local veterans employment representative, presented a framed certificate and challenge coin to KCSD Superintendent Glen Szymoniak. Messett was accompanied by Kim Laugsand of Worksource Oregon’s Klamath office.
“On behalf of the Worksource office here in Klamath Falls we would like to present you with this certificate of appreciation as a small token of our appreciation,” Messett said. “That certificate is printed on paper that is handmade from recycled military uniforms.”
Messett also gave Szymoniak a challenge coin, a military custom done with a handshake. “It is another way for us to say thank you for all you’ve done for veterans, spouses, and families,” he said.
Szymoniak was honored to accept the recognition for the district. “We honor and support the contributions of veterans, and we have veteran preference for hiring,” he said. “We find veterans to be quality candidates and employees in our schools.”
The school district has more than 900 full-time employees.
