June 8, 2023 / Klamath County Transition Program celebrated Independence Day for its Class of 2023 in an outside ceremony Thursday (June 8) attended by family and friends.
Six students are exiting the program, which provides three years of transition services to youth ages 18-21 on individualized education plans. The students learn work and independent living skills as well as participate in post-secondary education and community inclusion programs. The program operates the Jo2Go Coffee cart and the janitorial service Clean Sweep. Students are well-known through the Klamath County School District and with various community organizations.
Head teacher Randy Denson handed each student a KCTP diploma before directly addressing the exiting class of graduates.
“As you transition into new beginnings, accept the butterflies,” he said. “It’s a good thing. … Accept the new experiences, the challenges and the successes. Accept that there will be growth and accept that there will be revisions to your plan.”
