Update as of 3:25 p.m. April 3, 2026

Gilchrist Schools were put on secure status at 11:50 a.m., today, April 3, 2026, and remained in secure status until the end of the day, when students were transported home. All after school activities were canceled. Schools were put into secure status after a student was threatened off campus by another student, and the suspect fled the area. As of 3 p.m., law enforcement has the suspect in custody. We appreciate the response and work of our school resource officer Deputy Jones.
