Ralph Hill was a graduate of Henley High School in 1927. He attended University of Oregon, where he is a member of the University of Oregon Hall of Fame. He set a national record in the mile with a time of 4:12.2 in 1930 while at the University. He competed in the 1932 Olympics in Los Angeles and won the Silver Medal in the 5,000 meters. He has been named to the All-Time United States Olympic Track Team as a 5,000 meter runner.
